A good place for people and wildlife
Spa Park is undergoing a transformation thanks to the Friends of Slaithwaite Spa and the River Colne Project. Cherry and hazel trees and wildflowers have been planted; a grand river platform lets all visitors enjoy views of the river. The main avenue path has been resurfaced and some large sycamore trees have been removed to allow in more light and give a more open feel. Wildflower planting brings a splash of colour and dry stone wall repairs have helped bring this special place back into the heart of the community.
The river supports a huge variety of life: brown trout and grayling are abundant and if you’re lucky you might spot the kingfisher flash by.
